AtwoodFest, held in the heart of the eastside of Madison on Atwood Ave, offers live music on three stages, Wisconsin-made beer and wine, local food and art & craft vendors, kidsfest and a parade through the neighborhoods called the Convergence to kick it off!
AtwoodFest began in the summer of 1982 as Atwood Summerfest, an annual fundraising event for the Atwood Community Center (now the Goodman Community Center). In 2014, the Goodman Community Center withdrew as the host of the event to focus their energy on their core mission. The SASY Neighborhood Association stepped in and partnered with the Barrymore Theatre and the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center to reinvent the festival with a new name – AtwoodFest. Sector67 stepped in to help for two years (2024 & 2025).
2026 will be hosted by Barrymore Theatre and SASY NA. Our non-profit organizational arms use the proceeds of the festival to support community neighborhood grants submitted through the annual SASY grant cycle to projects that make the SASY neighborhood a better place for residents, businesses and visitors.
